One of the main problems of modern pedagogy – the lack of willingness and interest of children to learn, to acquire knowledges. Motivation for learning – is one of the main conditions for the implementation of the educational process. It not only contributes to the development of intelligence, but also is a driving force behind the improvement of the individual as a whole. Formation of motivation of students to the teaching and learning activities is one of the main problems of the modern school. The study involved 30 primary school children, who were divided into two groups. In the first group was used the scoring system rewards children for the best work in the section, in the other – no estimate promotion. It was found that the two groups of primary school age children have different motivation for physical training and different activity in the classroom. Also, established the causes of such results and made the conclusions for the optimization of teachers’ classroom work.
