Abstract

The article analyzes the historical background of preschool teachers’ training system in the UK: the peculiarities of early childhood education and the relationship with the system of teacher education. The author singled out the main types of UK pre-schools in relation to their financing and management. The peculiarities of preschool teachers’ qualifications regarding to different types of pre-schools are indicated. The features of public policies to improve the quality of professional training of pre-school education in the UK are analyzed. The general trends in the strategy of reformation and improvement of the British system of preschool teachers training are distinguished.
