Abstract

The article brings to light the way modern Ukrainian author O. Drobakha displays a deep philosophical sense of the social changes in life of Europeans in XVIII century in his historical fictional travel essay “Ukrainian secrets of France” which are certain to have influenced the national identity of Ukrainians as well as examines the phenomenon of the Great French Revolution in the context of the general development of Ukrainian society. From the perspective of the character of Napoleon Bonaparte not corrupted with the imperial colonial discourse the writer covers the role of a personality in history.
