Abstract

The article reveals the peculiarities of the formation of the gender ideology of the Middle Ages. The purpose of the study is to analyze the role of medieval Christian theological thought in the establishment of the gender ideology of Western European society.Gender ideology is a regulator of social consciousness, which secures the domination of a stronger sex by possessing material, financial, and informational resources. The idea of strong and weak articles evolved into political, philosophical, legal and other concepts.Analysis of the problem based on the works of representatives of the Christian medieval theological thought.
