Abstract

The article deals with the introduction of effective interdisciplinary team support for children with special educational needs in educational institutions. Central to the article is the characterization of the essence of the various components of the support process in a comparative aspect: in the United States (Virginia) and Ukraine. The following components of the team support process are distinguished as: team composition, assigned leaders, position of parents, range of tasks, goals, format of interaction, implementation of the educational process, the main document for the activities of the team of support, the degree of its independence, intervention programs. As a result, the author concludes that the current state of command support for children with PLO in Ukraine is fragmented, ill-conceived and formalized, leading to the inability of educators to provide consistent, purposeful support to children with PLO in the format of interdisciplinary team support. On the basis of international and own experience, the article describes ways to develop a consistent and effective process of interdisciplinary team support for PLO children in an inclusive educational space. Yes, it is about: 1) a new understanding of inclusion as a resource to create a vibrant, engaging, educational environment for all; 2) the need to move away from formalism in team support issues, which involves having a real coordinator, reviewing the basics of teacher-teacher collaboration, and developing an individual development program based on the SMART goals set by the team; 3) a special format for raising the level of competence of specialists of educational institutions through consistent expert coaching.
