Abstract

The module "Sociology of Communication" within the program of the course "Psychology and Sociology of Communication" is designed to form a theoretical base specialist in the field of media, so the purpose of his study is to master the students major terminological apparatus, the formation of ideas about the fundamental position of sociology of mass. The main objective of the course is to give an idea of ​​the specifics of the sociology of mass communication as a science, to familiarize with the sociological methods of the study of the QMS. The objectives of the course are: ● formation of knowledge about current trends in the development of media sociology; ● Characterization of mass communication as a social institution that shapes the society's cultural values, its worldview and civic mythology; ● mastering the basics of sociological methodology for researching participants in the communication process, as well as media texts
