Abstract

In the article the semantic levels of the novel by E. Jelinek «The Pianist» are investigated by means of a game motive. There have been highlighted game situations, which contribute to understanding of the author’s concept of the novel and dominant features of characters. An attempt has been made to prove the thesis concerning the incompatibility of initial norm for Erica Kohut’s games and ethic norms of the mankind.
