The osvitological analysis of the reform and modernization of the higher education in Ukraine is made in the article; osvitological context of the notions “reform of education” and “modernization of education” is disclosed; the general principles of the reform and modernization of educational sphere are grounded; the interrelations of the education reforms and reforms of such spheres of the social activities that are closely associated with education are revealed; the conclusions of the European experts about factors that hamper the development of the Ukrainian higher education are analyzed; the necessity of the development of the educational sphere from the position of the modern methodology of the multidisciplinary is grounded.
