Abstract

The article highlights the features of the concept of "information" as a category of educational process of the formation of information competence. An attempt to substantiate the theoretical foundations of the process of formation of information competence by studying the characteristics of the concept of "information." Studied scientific categories of the information and alternative pedagogy as a branch of applied informolohiyi. Differentiated concept of "computer competence" and "information competence". Examples of problematic issues and challenges of introducing the concept of "information" in the educational process.
