Abstract

The Dissertation is dedicated to the problem of development of the professional I-concept of elementary school teachers who work in the innovational activities mode. The author expands on the meaning and structural and functional peculiarities of the professional I-concept of elementary school teachers; characterizes innovational pedagogical activities as a factor of personal and professional development of teachers; describes theoretical model of the professional I-concept of elementary school teachers. The author discovers peculiarities of development of the professional I-concept of elementary school teachers which depend on pedagogical activities mode (traditional or innovational). Criteria (awareness of own professionally important characteristics, ideal image of professionally important characteristics of a professional teacher, interest towards knowing her or himself as a professional, understanding her or himself as a professional, adequacy of professional self-esteem, positive attitude to her or himself as a professional, delegating responsibility for important events in the professionally important life spheres, behavioral potential, self-regulation) and levels (high, medium and low) of the development of professional I-concept of elementary school teachers are defined in the Dissertation. The author determines the dynamics of the development of the holistic professional I-concept and its separate constituents (cognitive, emotional-evaluative, behavioral-regulatory) of elementary school teachers and shows its correlations with time period of innovational pedagogical activities. The author proves, develops and approbates the program which optimizes the development of professional I-concept of elementary school teachers who work in the innovational activities mode. The author traces the results of the program and analyzes the effectiveness of its implementation.
