Abstract

The paradigm of ideal protagonist in Shevchenko's oeuvre is presented by images of real, mythical and literary characters. The representation of images' paradigm happens both verbally and visually. The image of Diogenes, that associates with antique philosophical concept; and of Robinson Crusoe, the personification of positive ideal of the Enlightment, seem to be especially symbolic. In Shevchenko's art works these images are connected by the seme "the thinker who searches a Human cognizing the world". In the interpretation of Shevchenko the artist the images of Diogenes and Robinson Crusoe are the examples of artistic reception of precedente d images that are analyzed in the philosophical context; and the examples of art transformation of the world's culture's images correlative with national problematics.
