Abstract

The article elucidates the visual components of the advertising-informational collage in relation to signifier. A special attention is drawn to singling out among the visual elements such as picture, logotype and author’s photo of the advertising book, analysis of them according to the classification of Ch. Pierce’s signs (signs-symbols, signs-indexes, signs-icons) and interpretation of metaphorical images applying the method of verbal-visual metaphor. The role of the visual means as constituents of creolized formation is determined, that combining with verbal components become suggestive means of impact on the recipient.
