Abstract
The article gives a complex and system analysis some language features of the Ukrainian handwritten hagiographic monument of literature in which the second southern Slavonic influencing was reflected are studied. At the end of XVI – in XVII centuries the standardization of Cyrillic script in usage was stipulated by interaction of orthographic both system – Old Ukrainian and South Slavonic and orthographic system at that time was not yet development enough to permit the penetration of the phonetic spoken influence into the language of literature. Sufficiently traditional spelling in hagiographic sources reveals three tendencies: etymologically proper (conventional) application of letters, unconventional one but very close to live speech, and violation of traditions tending to bookish sources.
