In the article methods of implementing the continuity of teaching description to the children at age from 5 and 6 have been examined. The essence of these methods is to develop children’s future speech skills, aimed at creating descriptions obtained by them during their pre-school years, gradually and continuosly; to comprehend and realize the essential, formal and structural features of description as one of the functional and meaningful types of speech; to work out the abilities of choosing quite appropriate linguistic means capable to illustrate subject’s characteristics under description, to define the description as a unit of language, to perform the reflexion over speech in the form of description and the control children’s speech, enabling children to develop communicative and language abilities while creating descriptions. The fundamental pedagogical conditions, three stages of them have been definid in the methods: cpmmunicative and enriching, cognitive, reflexive and speech-creative. The communicative, linguistic and reflexive contents of teaching description have been worked out. The techniques, forms of organization and means which put into practice the continuity of teaching description to the children of six years old have been selected and optimized.
