Abstract
The research results of the evolution forms and artistic-stylistic features of classic suit in the European fashion of the XIX -early XXI century are represented in the monograph. For the first time in Ukrainian art the shapes prototype of traced object in male and female attires of XVII - XVIII centuries have been studied, involving a wide illustrations scope. And also the becoming of its structure in the English tradition of the XIX century, development and transformation of the forms of classical costume of the XX - beginning of the XXI century in the work of the French, British, Ukrainian designers. Based on the analysis of wide range of phenomena - the transformation of military uniforms in secular dress, convergence of male and female fashion due to capture of fancy metamorphosis and horse- riding, women's emancipation movement, functioning and change in artistic and fashion styles, the development of methods and modeling techniques, our attention is accumulated on the artistic structure of costume, composite solutions and means of expression related to material, color, decor. The publication is intended for scientists, art historians in the field of fashion, designers, stylists, teachers and students of art institutions of all levels, as well as anyone's, interested in the art of costume.
