Abstract
The author researches such notions as a competence and competences, analyses the content of basic approaches to leader's key competences formation in the foreign and domestic experience. The structure of vocational school director's competences is developed. An accent is made on the professional communication competence of a vocational school director in the structure of his/her key competences.
