Abstract

Research is devoted to the analysis of features of intertextuality in the A.Gide’s novel "Isabelle": the use of plots, images, motifs, which are traditional to the romanticism as a convenient form for the realization of the author's philosophical and ethical concepts and as a tool for the creation of modernist irony; transformation of the "romantic" stereotypes in the game field with the reader; modernist rethink of the grotesque as one of the key artistic techniques grotesque-fiction flow of the direction of romanticism.
