The article discusses trends, opportunities, prospects presence in social media networks. Based on analysis of population coverage rate of Ukrainian cities traditional media and Internet communications made the conclusion that the traditional media losing out, while their audience «moves» in the internet space. The benefits of the presence of mass media in social networks: social interaction of active readers of the reputation of the media increases their audience, take into account the wishes and advice of readers. Particular attention is paid to the possibility of the use of pages in the social networks of the media for corporate communications as an extension of traditional media audiences by Internet audience of social networks makes mass media appealing for PR-specialists. Social Network as an information channel, permits companies to inform their target audience, not only directly, without intermediaries, but also through the official media acanthus.
