Abstract

Psychological codes of ethics from 20 countries were compared considering 17 content and stylistical text features. Factor- and cluster-analyses were employed. Seven significant factors determining ethical codes’ functionality were obtained: “clarification of terms and key relationships”, “disciplinary conditions”, “preferable modality”, “legal documents”, “cultural diversity”, and “reflection on modality”. Three clusters of high level of similarity uniting codes from various countries were distinguished: 1 – Croatia, Israel, Russia, Slovenia, France, Poland, Bulgaria; 2 – Great Britain, Philippines, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Latvia, Netherlands, the USA; 3 – Iran, China, Lithuania, Italy. Ukraine was included in none of the clusters
