Abstract
Julia Kristeva is a prominent French researcher in the branch of literary studies, psychologist, philosopher, writer, apologist of the idea of feminism. The article offers a translation from French of a famous article of the author «Lire la Bible» («To Read The Bible») – an example of the psychoanalytical principle of the analysis of the sacred text. The methodology of the research by Julia Kristeva reaches towards the works of S. Freud and J. Lacan; the publications of the author play an important role in the incipience of the ideas that preach for the phenomenon of marginality and develop the postmodern rhetoric of the cult of the Other. She is the founder of the so-called «revolutionary linguopsychoanalysis», the theory of intertextuality, of the geno- and phonotext. The translation of the given article was made in accordance with the following edition: Julia Kristeva – Esprit No. 69 (9) (Septembre 1982) – pp. 143-152. The notes are given as they first appeared in the original text. The quotations from The Bible are submitted by the Ukrainian translation under the direction of I. Khomenko: The Scripture of The Old and New Testament. – Rome: Verbo Divino, 1988.
