Abstract
The article highlights the features of the concept of " information management " as a competence aspect of higher education in the development of the information society; attempts to explore the theoretical foundations of the process of information management in education by studying the characteristics of the concept of "information" as a combination of external messages received, transformed or stored in the internal information system.
