Abstract
This article deals with the theoretical and methodical bases of realization of the spiritual potential of the individual in continuing art education. Offers continuous invariant content of art education. Substantiates the definition of the term «spiritual potential of the personality». The main result of the process of realization of the spiritual potential of personality in the system of continuous art education is harmoniously formed personality of the teacher of musical art, capable of meeting cultural requirements of society, to implement socially important initiatives and innovations; promptly respond to social requests. The implementation of competence-based approach in continuing art education provides opportunities for creating an effective training system and advanced training of musical-pedagogical workers on the basis of a combination of national achievements of global significance and well-established European traditions by forming personal and professional experiences of music teachers
