Abstract
In the article on the basis of theoretical analysis for management studies, psychology and professional education is considered a category of competence from the perspective of competitiveness. Considerable attention is paid to the isolation and characterization of indications of competitive teachers in today’s labour market. It shows that modern competitive teachers distinguish such characteristics: active orientation and successful career, providing resistance to the competitors; the possession of General and special knowledge, abilities, skills, erudition; readiness to creative self-fulfllment through professional activity; the presence of high professional quality results of work; the ability to quickly navigate in a constantly changing space, to adapt, to learn, to refect, to develop). The training of such specialists can be ensured only through the full realization of the competence approach.
