Abstract
The thesis is dedicated to a polyaspect analysis of figurative visions of apocalypse, that are presented in Ukrainian postmodern novel. Sense bearing basics of the main interpretations of the world catastrophism ideas were defined, the experience of the native and foreign researchers of apocalyptic discourse was generalized and an authorial characteristic of types of apocalyptic visions in the novel of postmodern period in Ukrainian literature was suggested (an apocalypse as a game, an apocalypse as a prediction, an apocalypse as an event). It has been estimated, that the model of the apocalypse in the novel “Wozzeck” by Izdryk is a virtual realization of “an apocalypse as a game”, the rules of which are defined by the narrator-demiurge himself, the novels “Everyday rod” by Eugene Pashkovsky, “Stalinka” by Oles Ulianenko, “Dump of our God” by Galyna Pahutiak are united by the concept of “an apocalypse as a prediction”, that in every defined case has specific differences as well as common primary characteristics (the Christian theism, psychologism, priority to the mental and ethical norms, the high level of eschatological tension etc.), the novel “The Time of Deathchrists” by Y. Shcherbak is interpreted in the context of popular “adrenalin” prose, in which the apocalypse appears as a real event and the basis of the plot structure of the novel. An emphasis has also been made on the linguostylistic specialties of postmodern prose, such as the heterogeneity of the genre, intertextuality, the original character of the language field, which are means of actualization of literary-historical associative area in the apocalyptic novel that form the basis of generalized concepts of the apocalypse, serve as a vivid embodiment of postmodern ideological admonition, give texts psychological-metaphysical intension, deep symbolism and metaphoricity, stimulate the process of the evolution and modification of novel genre forms.
