Abstract
The main approaches to the development of diagnostic methods of research of mechanisms of phonological mistakes that are inherent to 5-6th grades students with severe speech disorders (SSD), auditory, visual functions and operations, phonemic processes and oral speech (pronunciation, lexical-grammatical side and coherent speech) at students with SSD are described in the article. The analysis of data on the formation of these functions and operations at 5-6th grades students with SSD and students with typical language development shows that characteristics have a lower level of development at the first ones. Based on the findings, the author separated groups of phonological mistakes and defined mechanisms of their occurrence. Summing up the results of research, the author points out that in general, there is insufficient formation of all items of phonologic speech component that significantly affect the further process of development and training of students with SSD. According to the results of phonological mistakes mechanisms identification, further research has to be directed to the development of effective methods of intervention and phonologic formation of speech at 5-6th grades students with SSD.
