Abstract
The problem of professional adaptation of an elementary school teacher in Ukraine in historical context. Thesis there is determined historical periods during which studied adaptation of future specialists in terms of practice. Analyzed research on definite issues. Systematize scientific views on the disclosure of professional adaptation in psychological and pedagogical science. Studied some issues of employment of young specialists in different historical periods of Ukrainian statehood.
