Abstract
The importance of taking into account the morphonological characteristics in the nominal accidence paradigm is indicated. The reasons and conditions for the variation in the morphonological models of nominal accidence in the Old Ukrainian language in the second half of the 16th through 18 th century are specified. The inconsistency of the use of vowel, consonant alternation and linear modifiсations in the process of constructing a case form is characterised.
