Abstract
The purpose of the article. The research is dedicated to discovering new dimensions in understanding of music and performing arts, which is regarded as a phenomenon of culture and encourages scientific attention that focuses on defining its features in the artistic and creative practice of musician and artist. Research methodology comprises systematic and analytical methods that allow to comprehensively revise music and performing arts from the standpoint of modern scientific thought in Ukrainian Art History in a wide range of specific literature. Scientific novelty lies in rethinking contemporary music and performing arts, which is regarded not only as a systemic phenomenon, which operates as a conjunction of musical performing education, musical creativity and musical concert practice, i.e. the interaction of such elements as ‘artist’, ‘music’, ‘musical-performing school’, ‘music and performing activities’, ‘music and performing work’, ‘musical concert practice’; but as a system of relations resulting in the perception of music, creation, reproduction, analysis and assessment of music that is a phenomenon in the spiritual life of society which determines its socio-cultural space. Conclusions. Music and performing arts is the study of art is a multi-componential object of research, which involves various principles of analysis, it can be understood in terms of music theory with the laws of the organic transition music from textual situation to its sound form, especially the material embodiment of a musical work in real sounding, as well as an independent phenomenon with a history of its own, prominent representatives of socio-cultural characteristics and artistic and creative identification, i.e. music and performing arts are also an object of study both in the theory and history of music performance and theory and cultural history, and even more so, as a multifaceted phenomenon, it can be an object of study of a number of sciences, such philosophy, sociology, psychology, aesthetics.
