Abstract

Peculiarities of representation and interpretation of the character “The Other” (on basis of travelling essay) are being investigated in this article. The texts of travelling essays from the “Vsesvit”, “Kurier Krivbasu”, “Potyag-76” and “Chetver” magazines were analyzed. The types of representation of the character “The Other” were defined, peculiarities of it’s interpretation in the Ukrainian cultural context of the end of XX – the beginning of XXI century were retraced
