Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of the phenomenon "tolkienism" as a means of moral education for future English teachers in the context of the multicultural competence development. The article reveals the nature of the "author's philosophy" by John Ronald Reuel Tolkien in the process of future English teachers' moral education in the context of the multicultural competence development. The author focuses on the tasks that should be fulfilled during the period of study in higher education institutions in the process of using the phenomenon tolkienism as a means of future English teachers' moral education and aims to achieve the development of multicultural competence in futureEnglish teachers' education. The main work of the teacher-writer John Ronald Reuel Tolkien for involving in the educational process of future foreign language teachers' training are described in the article. Different types of work with using J. G. G. Tolkien's novels in foreign language teaching aimed at the formation of future teachers' multicultural competence are showed in the article.
