Abstract
The article describes the main tasks of modern education reform. Media pedagogy is considered as its component, attention is focused on the relevance of the integration of media education into the educational process and its necessity for the formation of information environment conscious person. Thesaurus of issues such the concepts as "media education", "media pedagogy" and "media didactics" is considered. The need of media use in the process of specific subjects studying is commented on.
