Abstract
In this article the role of foreign language education in the process of internationalization of higher education and globalization process is justified. It is seen as the key mechanism to implement new educational tendencies in today’s globalized world. It defines clearly the interconnections between the foreign language education, internationalization of higher education and globalization as a whole. Moreover, it identifies key concepts connected to the globalization as a process without which it would be hardly possible to understand the concept clearly. Foreign language education is analyzed through the prism of its importance of formation a global citizen both as the professional skilled worker as well as the person with high democratic culture. The article aims to show what benefits foreign language education brings to every individual and what perspectives it opens for a human being as an individual as well as to the society. It also presents the list of global competences that are obligatory for every professional of today’s world and states how development of such skills and abilities is connected to foreign language education. In the article it is clearly stated that successful implementation of internationalization processes in education, as a component, of world globalization, brings concrete financial benefits and ensures the formation of one unified globalized society. This scientific research aims to intensify further investigations in the field and to attract the attention of management of this sphere as well as other stakeholders, so that they find additional advantages to push the process of internationalization of education at the universities. This article aims to show as well benefits this strategy gives to the institutions and the state as a whole on a long term perspectives. It states clearly that only when analyzing foreign language education as a key component of internationalization of higher education, it is possible to form a competitive professional for a globalized market place.
