Abstract

The article deals with O. Goldenweiser’s main principles of editing L. Beethoven’s piano sonatas; substantiates the views of outstanding pianist and teacher on German classical composer’s piano heritage; analyzes peculiarities of performing fingerings in L. Beethoven’s sonatas; presents the principles of pedaliaceae proposed by O. Goldenweiser. The aim of the article is to reveal the basic principles of editing L. Beethoven’s piano sonatas by O. Goldenweiser. The goals of the article are: to analyse the types of L. Beethoven’s piano sonatas editions of the piano sonatas; to characterise peculiarities of performing fingerings in L. Beethoven’s sonatas; pres­ ents the principles of pedaliaceae proposed by O. Goldenweiser. In this article, the author gets acquaintnce with the characteristics’ creativity of L. Beethoven in his sonatas. It is examined differences in existent edito­ rial versions of L. Beethoven’s piano sonatas as well. Generally, all of the Beethoven sonatas’ editions can be divided into three types: editions, that are close to the original, which deliberately limited to the minimum, specially conditioned additions (E. d’Alber); instructional and pedagogical edition, aimed at teachers and students to clarify specific work performance (Karl Czerny, G. Hermer, H. Bülow); artistic editions created by outstanding interpreters, who in creative search identified and presented the results of their own artistic practice. O. Goldenweiser offers a variety of techniques to pedaliaceae, which are the main rules for performers. Summing up, the author emphasizes that the above pedagogical postulates proposed by O. Goldenweiser, which are characterized by clarity, simplicity, concreteness guidance, will enable future pianists­ performers correctly interpret the works of classical composer and to understand the views of the eminent pianist and pedagogue O. Goldenweiser. Further researches can address issues of life and creative path of O. Goldenweiser, representatives created piano school.
