Abstract
This article is about the phenomenon of literature-centrism (cultivation of literature) and its assertion in the Soviet model of culture. In the 90s of the 20 th century the literature-centrism saw the decline which was reflected in the thoughts of Russian critics. The author tries to explain this phenomenon in the context of modern Ukrainian literature. He determines the phases of the literature-centrism of the 20 th century, and also pays attention to the process of liberation from it in the post-colonial period.
