Abstract
The article examines some specific provisions of labor of "Social pedagogy" by Paul Natorp including of virtues of the individual (truth, morality, capacity, a measure) and community virtues (honesty, participation of all in society’s life based on equality, justice). Also it is outlined the role of family, school, community, religion in the formation of these virtues. It has been presented the essence of social education as the formation of virtues of man in various social organizations, upbringing and his current understanding, based on philosophical and pedagogical principles of scientist.Author makes accent on the ideas of Paul Natorp in modern social and cultural conditions of European countries and Ukraine.
