Abstract

The artistic model of initiation represented by Liuko Dashvar’s trilogy “Byti ye” is examined in this article. The ways of artistic embodiment of “generational war’s” problem becomes the subject of special interest. The main positions of article are based on works by K.-H.Yunh, Ye. Meletynskyi, V. Propp. Such an approach is explained by cognation of modern novel’s structure with myth and fairy tale which were in a spotlight of adopted researchers’ works. These peculiarities of modern novel artistic thinking are the displays of general for literature of the 20th century returning to the myth according to the conception by Ye. Meletinskyi. This process gets continuation in literature of the first decades of the 21th century too. The archaic images and motives transform into modern and actual picture of  the  world but they save their universal meaning representing the eternal themes in modern novel. The character of rethinking of mother’s, father’s, twins’ and other archetypes in individual author’s picture of the world is investigated in this article. The archetype of mother is represented as the complicated psychical phenomenon getting contradictory embodiments in modern literature. The invariants of mother’s archetype are the images of “terrible” and “loving mother”. In the  article it’s proved that female images incarnate some traits of  masculine characters and stages of their evolution. The correlation between father’s and grandfather’s images in modern novels and image of  divine father in  archaic myth is  traced. The  basic principles of  organization of  artistic time and space are outlined. They are: actualization of archaic space constants (way, forest, house); mythological principle of  “eternal reiteration” and numerical symbolics which are characteristic for  fairy tale. At the  same time considerable attention is paid for peculiarities of postmodernist thinking which are incarnated in the trilogy, foremost for intertextual links and tendencies to rethinking of literary tradition, in particular of European novel’s classical forms. On the basis of these supervisions the author’s novels are represented as the field of cooperation of archaic levels of the artistic thinking and classical “novel of education”
