Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis of the ground forces of the Athenian polis and changes that took place in the Athenian army under the influence of Peloponnesian War events. Special attention is paid to the phalanx tactics, non-armor infantry and cavalry in batting, analysis of the mercenary institute of the polis army.
