The article is devoted to theoretical and practical aspects of the narrative strategies of post-colonial literature. The theoretical basis is the work of Homi Bhabha, The Nation and Narration, in which the founder of the method of the post-colonial analysis considers individual works as a form of textual identity of the nation, as well as a set of works of modern Ukrainian researchers of postcolonial perspective on the post-Soviet space (M. Pavlyshina, T. Gundorova, M. Ryabchuk, O. Yurchuk). Practical application of the method is demonstrated in the analysis of the works of contemporary Ukrainian writers (Yuriy Andrukhovych, Oksana Zabuzhko, Sergiy Zhadan, Svitlana Pyrkalo). The article includes analysis of the narrator image, who, as a rule, is a poet, traveling outside their home country and demonstrating both personal and cultural national reflections. It is significant that the authors of such works often use a particular genre form – prosimeter (or Menippea, as defined by M.Bakhtin) – connecting prose and poetry in a single text and thus creating a special trusted relationship with the image of the narrator. The article concludes with findings about “nomadic thinking” (Gilles Deleuze) which is characteristic of the formation of modern Ukrainian postcolonial discourse.
