Abstract
The features of the women's movement in Galicia in the early 20th century were analyzed. The grounds of its features and activities were clarified through the literary works written in epistolary style by Nastya Grinchenko, who was a member of the women's association «Ukrainian Women's Circle». Such areas of activities of the «Circle» as education, charity, mutual assistance, publishing, struggle to overcome stereotypes about women and improving of the existing social order were also enlightened in this article. Moreover women were also engaged in various social and political movements, including movement toward socialism.
