Abstract
The purpose of the work. The research is related to questions of the ethical policy of the scientific periodicals, the main recommendations of the Committee on the Ethics of COPE publications in order to inform Ukrainian authors and adherence of domestic editions’ editorial boards these requirements. Because this is a prerequisite for indexing by global science-computer databases, as well as international publications by domestic authors. The scientific novelty of the work is to analyze and systematize English-language information, which due to the lack of Ukrainian-language sources, this issue has been poorly covered in Ukraine The research methodology consists in analysis methods, in particular for English-language sources, descriptive and comparative. Were determined the criteria for the refusal to publish articles, the unfair practice of individual publishing houses and the responsibility of the authors for the research publication. The types of plagiarism and the process of recalling the article are described. The attention was paid on the issue of academic integrity and its implementation in Ukraine, the rules of citation and self-citation. The basic concepts of open access and the traditional model of scientific journals are described. The criteria for identifying questionable publishers and “Jeffrey Bill's black list” are given. Conclusions. The issue of the ethics of scientific publications abroad is clearly regulated and standardized. In Ukraine, only the top editions carefully adhere to them. Therefore, the issue of using the Creative Commons open access licenses in Ukraine, self-archiving of the data set and own publications, and the conclusion of copyright agreements across the country provides prospects for further research.
