Abstract
The structure and functions of ethnic conscience were characterized. It was defined, that stereotypes are typical phenomenon of ethnic conscience. It was clarified, that the components and functions of ethnic conscience provide consciousness of ethnic belonging and notion about itself as a representative of a certain ethnos. It was defined, that they provide optimal personality adaptation for living conditions, enable successful activity during the process of regular correlation their living positions, attitudes, values with requirements and norms of ethnic community that is identified by a personality.
