Abstract

The emergence of a single world information space and modern civilization dependent on the information component opens up the possibility of targeting the mass consciousness through information. Widespread information networks greatly enhances the power of information and weapons transfers interstate and ideological conflicts in the information field. Information warfare aimed at achieving sustainable results in the formation of public opinion manipulators in a given direction, laying the behavior patterns of the masses. Purpose of the article – to reveal the main sophistical methods and specific use in the information wars to develop specific means of combating technologies aimed at manipulating public opinion, beliefs, attitudes, and hence the actions of the masses. Sophists our time become more inventive. They have adopted advanced technology PR and propaganda. The main feature of modern sophism was the manipulation of public opinion. One of the main protection against manipulation is to improve the culture of thinking of the general public.
