Abstract
The article is devoted to national attitude of Ukrainian students. The results of empirical research of national attitude of students from the northern, southern, western and eastern regions of Ukraine are considered. National attitude was examined by Questionnaire of national self-attitude by O.M.Lozova. The main part of the text informs about features of a national self-attitude by Ukrainian students. Ukrainian students have definitely a positive attitude towards their nation with a high level of self-interest and self-acceptance, able to manage their lives, with a sufficient level of self-esteem and self-confidence. At the same time, young Ukrainians demonstrate a tendency to self-accusation, as well as poorly understand their nation. The weak point in the structure of national attitude is the orientation towards the perception of Ukrainian nation from the outside; greater amount of Ukrainians believe that other national communities can not appreciate their own highly positive. Intergroup comparisons are identified (regional features that significantly differentiate a particular group from others, or one pair of groups from another pair). Students in the western and northern regions have a much greater interest in their nation and nationality than students from the eastern and southern regions. Students in the western region blame their nation less than others, while students in the southern region blame their nation more than others.
