Abstract
The article is devoted to the actual problem of the 21st century, there is an expansion of the spectrum of herbal preparations that have antibacterial and cytostatic properties. Perspective in this direction are weeds and adventitious plants, common in various biocenoses. One such plant is Ambrosia artemisiifolia. The aim of the presented study is to study the cytostatic and antibacterial activity of the aqueous extract of Ambrosia and to provide a comparative analysis of these indices with those of some other medicinal plants. Thus, the cytostatic activity of the studied plants can be represented by the following series in descending order: celandine large> ragwort ragweed> periwinkle small> mistletoe white. The anti-staphylococcal activity of the water ragweed extract is close to that of the mistletoe of the white mist and of the celandine of the large one. Antibacterial effect on vulgar vulgaris was highest in extract from ragweed shoots.
