The article is devoted to the actual issues of development of Ukrainian derivatology during the convergence of languages. The sources of word-formation abnormality have been shown. The influence of external factors on the formation of Ukrainian-language derivatology has been noted. The typical cases of the use of unconditioned denotate in the texts of prose works, periodicals have been identified. The cases of distortion of the Ukrainian-language lexical system have been distinguished by unnatural affixes. The influence of unconventional use of Russian-language word-formation traditions on the codification of norms of the Ukrainian literary language has been noted. The competition of Ukrainian-language denotate with the forms of a sign on the performed action has been monitored. The ways of replacing the unconventional models of the participles with the national denotate to indicate the characteristics of persons or objects have been indicated. Examples of grammatically correct forms of verbal lexemes in contemporary Ukrainian periodicals have been noted. The role of verbal adjectives in the displacement of borrowed grammatical models of word forms has been determined. The cases of loosening of the national linguistic norm have been demonstrated. The importance of further studying texts of contemporary Ukrainian-language periodicals has been indicated.
