Abstract
Using a unique data of Basel Committee and National Bank of Ukraine from 2014 to 2017, this study investigated the concept of stress-testing of the banking system from the perspective of various regulatory acts USA, United Kingdom, European Union and diagnostic experience of the Ukrainian banking system. The central thesis of this paper is that banking system diagnostics showed certain features of the stress-testing in Ukrainian banks. This study explores definition the three directions banking sector updating, which based on the results of stress-testing: the first one is the clearing the banking system, the second is optimizing of the banking system, and the third is eliminating of the "weaknesses" of banking regulation and supervision.
