Abstract
The memoirs of the famous Russian writer, poet, publicist, public figure, teacher, gardener Fedir Romer, who studied in 1855–1860 at the History and Philology Faculty of the St. Volodymyr University in Kyiv, were analyzed. It is established that in his memoirs Fedir Romer characterized the atmosphere of the St. Volodymyr University in Kyiv, the moral code of honor of students of that time, explained the professional, educative and pedagogical influence of the talented and favorite professors of the World History V.Ya. Shulgin and Russian History P.V. Pavlov. The period of their multifaceted activities formed the Second stage of the School of Historians of the St. Volodymyr University. It is determined that Fedir Romer memoirs helped to understand more deeply the significance of the profound influence of the professors–historians V.Ya. Shulgin and P.V. Pavlov and the School of Historians of the St. Volodymyr University of the XIX century in Kyiv in general on the formation of professionalism, world outlook, humanity, morals, active life position, cultural level of many generations of St. Volodymyr’s students and allow us to trace the continuity of the traditions of the School of Historians of the St. Volodymyr University at the beginning of the XXI century.
