Abstract
The course "Sociology of Public Opinion" is designed to form the theoretical basis of the Master of Journalism and Media Communication, therefore, the purpose of his study is to master students by the methodology of sociological research of public opinion, the formation of ideas about the fundamental positions of sociology of public opinion as a specific form of activity The main task of the course is to form an idea about the specifics of public opinion, its structure, functions and role in the life of society and its interaction with mass media. The objectives of the course are: ● formation of knowledge about the history of sociological studies of public opinion; ● characteristics of the functioning and the main stages of development of public opinion; ● awareness of the influence of the media on public opinion ● development of competence in choosing the necessary model of media interaction with public opinion; ● operation of the main methods of sociological research of public opinion.
