Abstract
The monograph is devoted to the analysis of scientific approaches to the study of the historical process and social development. The authors try to answer some questions of research of history, taking into account the world experience of studying the historical process. The analysis of traditions of domestic and foreign historical writing, in particular, the study of certain issues of Ukrainian history, European history, methodological foundations of historical cognition has been analyzed. The monograph is intended for professional historians, teachers and students, all who are interested in history as a science.
