Abstract
The article addresses the issue of discourse space and treats off discourse as a stream of texts generated in diverse contexts. The article highlights the notion of semantic matrix that is identified as a relatively stable core for contextually generated texts verbalizing the basic concepts relevant for a certain world or a sphere of professional activity. The said language units are marked my noematic senses which arise as a result of interpretations involving empirically accessible input data as well as interpretational operators from the mythic space, secondary "professional" mythology, and situational pragmatic incentives. We suggest a pattern of a noematic sense's genesis in regard to the various types of scenarios addressed in the discourse. The paper discusses the results of the analysis of semantic and conceptual features of designation units verbalizing the basic concepts that structure the discourse space of NBA matches' broadcasting. Diverse activities connected to the game of basketball are designated by a number of language units that shape the "semantic matrix" of the respective discourse space. The said units' semantic and structural variants enter a profusion of micro-texts related to a range of hyper-connectedscenarios within the event of a basketball match. The article focuses on the units verbalizing basic technical elements, players' moves, teams' strategies and their immediate evaluations. Semantic transformations are tackled withing the framework of the myth-oriented semiosis theory and the methodology of M-logic.
